Nothing pushes the culture for music more than creatives and innovators. The artists who really dive deep into their creative process to put out some great work. An artist who embodies this is Live Yatta. We were first introduced to Live Yatta with his new song "My First Punk Song" and he instantly made an impression that made us want to get to know this incredible artist more. Live Yatta was gracious enough to take a time to do an interview with us. Below is the interview.

Who is Live Yatta the artist?

Live Yatta is a punk inspired Hip-Hop artist from the DMV. Currently a full time student at The University Of Maryland and also a full time artist. Live Yatta is very much a DIY artist, who is heavily shaped by day to day experiences.

What are some of the influences for your signature style?

Growing up I listened to a lot of punk and rock music, Blink-182, Greenday, The Beatles all influenced me sonically. Keeping my music fun, relatable and full of attitude comes from the influence of those artist!

Then in Hip-Hop Kanye West, and Lil Wayne inspired me creatively. They were able to their own lanes in the Hip-Hop and bring many different type of sounds to Hip-Hop. Even when many doubted them.

Combine all that and you get Live Yatta.

What was your approach when creating “My First Punk Song”?

My approach on “ My First Punk Song” was very organic. A friend of mine and now producer named, Bogly, cape through to the studio and like always I challenge him to make me some out of this world shit! So we layed down the guitars and then from their it just all fell into place.

I wanted to address a lot of things that I have and had experienced in my life and put all that into a song that told my story, struggles,  upcomings, and successes.

How does it feel now that “My First Punk Song” is out to the people?

To finish a song and have it out to the people now it feels fucking dope! Especially when my stuff hits people as a rock song, it’s like I accomplished what I wanted out of it.

What is the biggest thing you want people to take away from your music?

I want people to know that you can be original, try new sounds sonically and still be great! You don’t have to sound like anyone else to be successful, it comes from patience, dedication and just having fun with it. Be yourself and you’ll go somewhere!

What can people expect next from Live Yatta?

I have a lot going on it’s going to fucking rock!
